DRAXIS was founded in 2000 in Thessaloniki, Greece, to focus on providing consulting, solution development, implementation and management of environmental technologies. DRAXIS helps local authorities or private organisations in the improvement of natural resource usage and integration of environmental management issues into the decision-making process. Through the combined use of Geographic Information System technologies, environmental know-how and environmental remote sensing and database software products, DRAXIS' clients can achieve substantial improvements in environmental performance. STELLA Consulting, founded in 1993 and with its headquarters in Brussels, provides environmental engineering and consulting services for public and private sector clients worldwide, including government agencies, funding institutions, private investors, and industries. STELLA helps its clients to assess environment and development issues, formulate environment and development strategies, and design and implement specific actions. Typical STELLA services include communication and dissemination, training, institutional and organisational development, capacity building, economic and financial analyses, evaluation and monitoring, strategies and action plans, and environmental assessments and audits. STELLA provides these services in water and wastewater management, solid and hazardous waste management, air pollution control, industrial pollution control and prevention, emergency preparedness and response, coastal zone management, and biodiversity conservation and management.
The Region of Crete is a second grade local self-government authority and offers services for the benefit of more than 600,000 citizens on the largest island of Greece. It consists of six General Directorates and 36 Directorates aimed at the economic, social and cultural development of the island. The Region of Crete designs, plans and implements policies at the regional level as part of its responsibility in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and social cohesion of the country, taking into account national and European policies. The Region of Crete has implemented a variety of national and European projects, including information, promotion and diffusion of knowledge and co-operation with other bodies, including those from abroad.
Two laboratories of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) are participating in eEnviPer: the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics (LAP) and the Laboratory of Thermophysical Properties & Environmental Processes (LTPEP). The Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics (LAP) is part of the Physics Department, in the Faculty of Sciences. Major topics of expertise of the LAP’s staff are: atmospheric composition and chemistry; global change; tropospheric chemistry and air pollution; emission inventories; meteorological and air quality monitoring and modelling at urban and regional scales; air quality assessment; atmospheric remote sensing; physics and chemistry of the ozone layer; measurements and modelling of atmospheric ultraviolet radiation. The Laboratory of Thermophysical Properties & Environmental Processes (LTPEP) is part of the Chemical Engineering Department. The LTPEP holds an international leading position in the field of thermophysical properties. Recent activities in this area involve the modelling of traffic pollution and the measurement of airborne particles.
Planetek Italia S.r.l. is a leading multidisciplinary Geographical Information Services and Earth Observation company focused on exploiting the value of geodata through viable, desirable and feasible solutions for storage, processing and delivery. Its high competence is testified by the unceasing cooperation with European Union, universities, space agencies, research centres and internationally known companies. The company has been recently awarded for the development of the new European INSPIRE Geoportal and the high-resolution map of Forest and Impervious Area within the GMES Initial Operations (GIO) Land Monitoring Services.
Planetek Italia is an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Associate Member and is involved with the INSPIRE initiative as a Spatial Data Interest Community (SDIC), founder of the Italian INSPIRE Forum, founder member of AIPAS, Italian Small and Medium Aerospace Enterprises Association and member of EARSC, the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies.
ARPA Puglia is the Apulian Regional Agency for Environmental Prevention and Protection, a technical-scientific body within the Apulian Regional Administration. ARPA Puglia is involved in control activities on chemical, biological and physical risk factors affecting environmental matrices, thus aiming at preventing harmful effects on the population.
Highly qualified professionals are involved in monitoring and reporting activities: chemists, biologists, physicians, environmental engineers and physicists.
ARPA Puglia is also in charge of key research activities concerning pollution sources, air quality control, natural resource damage as well as water quality and polluted areas assessment. ARPA’s local divisions are involved in monitoring and analysis of environmental and anthropic matrices: soil, water, air emissions, waste, noise sources, electromagnetic fields and ionizing radiations, radioactivity.
Oikon Ltd. is a research based company founded in 1997 in Croatia, with two distinct but complementary strands: a pragmatic market-driven consultancy firm and a research and development institute capable of providing solutions to increasingly complex challenges in the areas of health, nature and environment protection and sustainable management of natural resources. Oikon operates in both public and private sectors. Oikon is a competitive organisation with proven experience and has been a single provider or partner of several pivotal projects for environmental sector in Croatia. Its service portfolio includes: environmental protection, natural resource management, nature protection, landscape architecture, information technology and Geographical Information Systems, renewable energy resources, industrial ecology, programme and project management, environmental medicine, remote sensing and telemetry, and environmental modelling.
As a regional public authority, Krapina-Zagorje county in Croatia actively implements a set of activities that aim to improve citizens’ standard of life. These activities are realised through planning and development in several areas: education, health, urban planning, traffic, energy efficiency, infrastructure, economy and civil society. Its portfolio includes many projects and actions, such as financing schools, clinics or local roads, preserving nature, support to the local economy, improving transparency in procedures, and involving citizens in the decision-making process. Krapina-Zagorje county has adopted short- and medium-term priorities, upgrading and improving strategic documents and defining guidelines in particular areas. These strategic documents and objectives are in accordance with national documents and EU standards and best practices.
The municipality of Indjija covers an area of 385 km² and consists of 11 settlements with a total of 52,750 habitants. Indjija is one of the most developed municipalities in Serbia, strongly oriented towards the use of new technologies in city administration and public services. The municipality has developed comprehensive e-Government services accessible through its website, ranging from issuing basic registry documents to providing licenses and permits. Its System48 service is a comprehensive management and accountability system, using Geographical Information Systems and allowing municipal leadership to monitor the work of its departments and public utility enterprises, make informed decisions, and improve the overall quality and cost-effectiveness of service delivery.

The city of Niğde is home to 110,000 citizens in the heart of Cappadocia. The city is one of the central municipalities in Turkey, known for its rich agriculture and historical sites. The city has developed a number of e-government services, ranging from electronic payments to an online portal. The city is part of Niğde province. Its administration consists of twelve departments who work together for the further economic development of the region. Through eEnviPer, Niğde hopes to become one of the leading cities in Turkey in terms of e-government.
The 'Niğde Province Directorate of Environment and Urbanism' is responsible for controlling (incl. earth quake regulations), issuing related permits (construction, environment etc.) and offering technical support for all public building and facilities, all building and facilities that concern the common wealth of the public in addition to overseeing construction sites, pursuing zoning efforts in line with national strategies and overseeing all services related to disaster management in the province.
ETAM SA was founded in 1993 and is located in Heraklion, Crete. The company is a leading consulting organization active in the region of Crete (Greece), carrying out evaluation and development planning studies and providing business consulting services both to the public and private sector. ETAM is mainly specialized in environmental management and energy projects and has great experience in the implementation of many European territorial cooperation projects relevant to sustainability and eco-innovation (i.e. INTERREG, MED, FP7, etc.).
